How it works
How a tension fabric lightbox uses tensioned fabric and backlight
A fabric lightbox is an aluminium frame with LED illumination inside and a tensioned fabric graphic across the face. The graphic is made by dye-sublimation printing on backlit polyester stretch fabric, with a silicone edge sewn round it. You push the silicone edge into a channel in the aluminium profile, which pulls the fabric tight with no wrinkles or visible fixings.
Because the LED backlight sits inside the frame, the illuminated graphics stay bright and even under dim hall lighting. Single-sided lightboxes in the Infinity DNA range include a blockout graphic for the back, and double-sided versions carry a printed graphic on both faces.

What is a fabric lightbox?
A fabric lightbox is an LED lightbox with a printed fabric graphic stretched across the front. The silicone edge on the graphic slots into the frame to keep it tight, and the light shines through the fabric so your artwork glows evenly.
Are fabric lightboxes worth it?
If you exhibit more than once, usually yes. The frame is reusable, so you only buy new tension fabric graphics when your marketing message changes, and an eye-catching lit graphic stands out on a busy show floor. WaveLight and Infinity DNA frames carry a lifetime warranty on hardware.
What is the difference between edge-lit and backlit?
Edge-lit frames, such as WaveLight Infinity, place the LEDs round the edge of the frame so the profile stays slim. Casonara and Infinity DNA use LED arrays or high-powered LEDs inside a deeper frame to light larger panels evenly.
Can a fabric lightbox be wall mounted?
WaveLight Infinity frames can be wall mounted as well as used freestanding or linked together. The other ranges stand on their own feet, and the Casonara blimps hang overhead from a harness.
What can I put on a fabric lightbox graphic?
Any full colour artwork, from a logo and a short marketing message to a full-bleed photo. We print custom printed SEG graphics to the exact size of your frame, and FREE artwork design or proofing is included on every order.
Single-sided or double-sided?
Choose single-sided for a light box against a wall or at the back of the stand. Double-sided suits displays that visitors walk round. WaveLight Infinity, Infinity DNA and Casonara light boxes all come in single and double-sided versions, and the Casonara 100S tower is lit on all sides.
How do I change the graphic?
Pull the silicone edge out of the channel, then press the new graphic in round the frame. You can order replacement graphics for the same frame whenever your message changes.
How are fabric lightboxes transported?
Casonara light boxes and towers ship in a CA700 hard case with wheels, as does the 3m Infinity DNA. The 0.95m and 1.4m Infinity DNA come in a soft moulded case, and Glopix and Rayo come with padded carry cases.
Do they need power?
Yes. Each lightbox runs from a supplied power supply or transformer and needs a mains socket on the stand. The Rayo LED Wireless light box is the exception, running on a rechargeable battery.
