For most people, the best exhibition stand for a 3x3 space is a complete kit with a wall just under 3m wide, a counter and one tall piece for extra height. That gives you a full branded backdrop, a reception point to talk to visitors and nothing you need to buy separately. Our pick for most exhibitors is the 3x3 exhibition stand Starter Kit, from £1,099.95 ex VAT. On a tight budget, a pop up stand bundle with two lights and a wheeled case starts at £747.95 ex VAT. For a corner space where you want light, a stand built from LED lightboxes starts at £3,149.95 ex VAT.
Below is what each option includes, what actually fits in the space, how a corner plot changes the choice, and when to hire or buy. Prices are live Stand Central prices, ex VAT, checked on 22 October 2026.

If I had one 3m x 3m space and no stand yet, I would decide in this order: how many open sides the space has, how often you will use the stand, and whether you need power for lighting. The sections below follow the same order.
What fits on the main wall of a 3m x 3m space
The first thing to check is width, and the names can mislead you. A “3x3” pop up display stand is named after its frame, not your floor space. Ours are 2.54m wide curved or 2.7m wide straight, so they fit a 3m wall with a little room at each end. A “3x4” pop up is 3.07m curved or 3.44m straight, which is wider than the space, so it will not fit a 3m x 3m plot.

The widest wall in the chart that still fits is the lit fabric backdrop in our LED Kit, at 2935mm. The fabric and cardboard walls in the chart sit between 2260mm and 2674mm. Two more things to check against the specification before you order:
- Height. Our kits for a 3m x 3m space stand between 2200mm and 2380mm tall. Look up the maximum stand height in your exhibitor manual, as some shows set a limit.
- Shell scheme. If your space comes with shell scheme walls, a freestanding exhibition display sits in front of the organiser’s back panel. Check the internal height and width first.
Best for most exhibitors, a complete kit with nothing extra to buy
Our 3m x 3m Starter Kit gives you four pieces that cover the jobs a small stand has to do. The 2.4m straight fabric display (2320mm high by 2350mm wide) is your main wall and carries your company logo and message. The monolith adds a second tall graphic beside it, at 2380mm high, and comes 600mm to 1500mm wide. The square counter gives you a place to stand and talk, and the literature stand holds brochures at the front of the space.

Everything uses push-fit aluminium frames with dye-sublimation printed fabric that is fire rated to B1, and the fabric is machine washable at 30 degrees. The wall packs into a bag of 750 x 270 x 270mm that weighs 5kg. The hardware has a 1 year warranty, excluding graphics.
Choose the Starter Kit if you will exhibit several times a year and want a stand that looks finished without a builder. Each piece stands on its own, so the layout can change from show to show.
Best on a tight budget, a 3x3 pop up display stand
If the budget is closer to £800, a 3x3 pop up stand is the best value for small exhibition stands. Our Quick+, Impact and Vision bundles all come with a printed pop up wall, two LED lights and a wheeled case that turns into a desk, from £747.95 ex VAT (on the Quick+ the top and wrap are extra). The Quick+ and Impact frames open out and their magnetic arms lock into place, so they go up without tools. The Quick+ product page says one person can build it on their own.
The differences are small but worth knowing. The Vision kits carry a 5 year warranty on the hardware, excluding the print, and use PVC panels. The Quick+ and Impact bundles use PVC-free polyester. Straight walls are 2.7m wide and only 306mm deep, while the curved versions are 2.54m wide and take more depth, which matters if you want room in front of the wall.
If you prefer fabric to panels, the Hop-up kit (£820.95 ex VAT) has one continuous printed fabric face with no joins, plus a matching counter. The stand is 2260mm wide and the two parts weigh 15.4kg together, each in its own wheeled bag. It is narrower than a panel pop up, so it suits a stand where you want room for a banner or a TV beside it.
Corner vs inline exhibition stand layout
An inline space has neighbours on both sides and one open side facing the aisle. A corner space has two sides open, so people see it from either aisle. Your booking confirmation or floor plan will tell you which you have.

- Inline space. Put everything on the back wall. One straight wall plus a desk at the front corner keeps the floor open to invite people in, so they do not have to talk to you from the aisle.
- Corner space. Use an L-shaped stand so the side wall faces your second aisle. Our L-shaped exhibition stand uses two 3m fabric walls (2950mm each way) plus a square desk, from £1,327.95 ex VAT, and is a double sided exhibition stand, with both walls printed on both faces.
- Open on three sides. A peninsula space has no side walls to lean on, so freestanding pieces such as a monolith, banners and a desk work better than one long wall.
Using LED lightboxes to draw attention in a busy hall
Light is the one upgrade that changes how a small stand looks from the aisle. The LED Kit (£2,374.95 ex VAT) puts a lit fabric backdrop, 2935mm by 2216mm, beside two freestanding lightboxes 2000mm high. Kit 3 (from £3,149.95 ex VAT) is a fully branded stand built from four LED lightboxes 2250mm high that connect into an L for a space open on two sides, with 5,700mm of lit wall in total. The print is lit evenly by an LED backlight, and the Pro version adds a 1000mm x 1000mm lightbox counter for £3,548.95 ex VAT.
Both need mains power, usually ordered from the organiser. If you are weighing the two routes, our guide to fabric vs LED exhibition stands compares them in more detail. My rule is simple: if your space is in a dim part of the hall or you exhibit at evening events, the light is worth paying for. If not, a fabric kit and two spotlights do most of the job.
A sustainable choice for a small space
If your business wants to avoid aluminium and PVC, our cardboard starter kit (£949.95 ex VAT) fills a 3m x 3m space with a 2674mm wide printed wall, a desk and an 800mm banner stand. Every piece is fluted corrugated board that is fully recyclable, and if one part gets damaged or your message changes, you replace that part rather than the whole stand. Bigger cardboard kits add a product display unit, plinths, or a poseur table and two bar stools so visitors have a seat, in our cardboard exhibition stands range.

Exhibition stand hire or buy for a small space
Buy if you will use the stand at more than a couple of shows, because the hardware is reusable and only the print changes. A rental stand makes sense for a one-off show, or when you want someone else to handle the build. Our stand hire service covers venues in England: we design and print the graphics, and the stand is delivered and installed on-site, then taken down after the show, with carpet, lights, a screen and bar furniture included. It is priced by quote.
Either way, keep the stand in proportion to the space. In our exhibition stand costs research, headline space-only rates for a new exhibitor ran from £125 to £1,100 per m² ex VAT across 26 UK rate cards (checked on 28 September 2026). A 3m x 3m space is 9m² of floor area, so the floor alone can cost from about £1,125 to £9,900 ex VAT before you add a stand.
Exhibition stand design with one clear message for your brand
Good design for a small display space is mostly about restraint. If you have been looking at exhibition booth design ideas online, the same rules apply to a UK 3m x 3m stand:

- Put your company logo and one clear message in the top half of the main wall. Our counters are around 1m high, so anything printed lower will be hidden once the desk is in place.
- Keep the floor clear. One desk, one tall piece and a literature stand is plenty for 9m².
- Use the same design across every piece so the stand reads as one brand from the aisle.
Room for a screen or a demo every visitor can see
If you run a demonstration or a video, plan where the TV goes before the artwork is designed, so it does not cover your message. We also sell pop up stands for this size of space with a TV mount built in. A demo needs a clear patch of floor at the front, so on 9m² it usually means leaving out the literature stand rather than squeezing in another piece. Each visitor should be able to see the demo from the aisle without walking round your desk.
Every order includes FREE artwork design or proofing. Send us your file and we check it before it goes to print, or our design team will create it for you. Our artwork guidelines ask for images at 72 to 125 DPI at full size, colours in CMYK and a High Quality Print PDF. Printed and dispatched within 5 days with express options available. You can compare every size and system in our exhibition stands range.
Frequently asked questions
What size is a 3x3 stand space?
It is 3m wide by 3m deep, which is 9m² of floor. A 3x3 pop up stand is a different thing: the name describes the frame, and ours are 2.54m to 2.7m wide and about 2.2m high, so they fit across the back of a 3m x 3m space.
Will a 3x4 pop up stand fit in a 3m x 3m space?
No. Our 3x4 pop up stands are 3.07m wide curved and 3.44m wide straight, which is wider than a 3m wall. Choose a pop up sold as 3x3, or a backdrop at or under 2935mm such as the lit fabric wall in our LED Kit.
How much does a stand for a 3m x 3m space cost?
Our kits for a 3m x 3m space run from £747.95 ex VAT for a pop up bundle to £3,548.95 ex VAT for an LED lightbox stand with a lit counter, checked on 22 October 2026. Every price includes printed graphics and FREE artwork design or proofing.
Is a corner or inline space better for a small stand?
A corner space is seen from two aisles, so it suits an L-shaped stand with print on both walls. An inline space works well with a straight wall and a desk at the front. Use the stand that matches the open sides you have booked.
Can one person put up a stand for a 3m x 3m space?
Most of our kits for this size are tool-free and pack into bags or wheeled cases. The Quick+ product page states that one person can build its pop up frame on their own. Lightbox stands are heavier, as each 2m lightbox in Kit 3 is packed at 21kg, so plan for two people.
