The Best Table Top Display for Exhibitions and Trade Show Tables

The Best Table Top Display for Exhibitions and Trade Show Tables

The best table top display for exhibitions depends on how much of the table you have and what sits behind it. If you share a table or only have a corner of one, a desktop roller banner at A4 or A3 puts your name at eye level for very little money. If you have a full trestle table and nothing behind you, a fabric pop up gives you a proper printed backdrop for your brand that stands on the table itself. For a reception desk or counter, a small double-sided angled banner stand works well because it can be read from both sides.

Below I compare the table top displays we sell, what each one is good for and which I would buy for different exhibition set-ups. Sizes come from each product page and prices are live Stand Central prices, ex VAT, checked on 23 October 2026.

The diagram shows how big each one is on the table. The desktop banners are all close to A4 or A3 paper size, while the fabric pop ups are as tall as a person standing behind the table is likely to need.

Choosing the right display for a small table at a trade show

Small exhibitions, craft shows and vendor events often give each exhibitor a table and nothing else. Before you buy, it helps to know four things about that space:

  • Table size. A 5ft fabric pop up needs most of a 6ft trestle table, and an 8ft one needs a long table to itself. A desktop banner fits on a small table or a shared one.
  • What is behind you. If there is a wall, a shell panel or your own backwall, a desktop banner on the table is enough. If you are in the middle of a room with nothing behind you, a fabric pop up gives people something to see from across the exhibition halls.
  • How close people stand. Visitors at a table are an arm’s length away, so a small banner at eye level works. People walking past further away need the larger print of a pop up.
  • How you travel. Desktop banners weigh well under a kilo. The fabric pop ups pack into a carry bag at 7.58kg shipping weight, which is still easy for one exhibitor to carry.

The best banner stand for a table top

For most exhibitors the best banner stand for a table top is a desktop roller banner. It works like a full-size roller banner: the graphic pulls up from a weighted base and hooks onto a pole, so there is nothing to assemble beyond the two-piece pole. The Breeze desktop roller banner A4 is 240mm wide and 335mm tall, weighs 0.2kg and costs £55.95 ex VAT. The Breeze A3 is 332mm wide and 440mm tall for £58.95 ex VAT, which gives you a graphic about twice the area for £3 more. Both have an anodised silver base and a self-adhesive top rail, so swapping in a new graphic later is simple. Neither comes with a carry bag, so pack it with your brochures.

If your team needs several, the Rhino desktop roller banner A4 is £43.95 ex VAT each and the Rhino A3 £46.95 each, but both have a minimum order of 5. They come fully assembled with a padded carry bag, which helps stop them being damaged in transit, the graphic is UV printed on a grey-backed blockout material which stops light showing through the print, and the hardware has a 1-year warranty.

  • Choose the Breeze A3 if you are buying one or two and want the largest graphic on the table.
  • Choose the Rhino A4 or A3 if you are buying five or more for a team, or you want a padded bag with each one.
  • Choose A4 if you share the table, leaving room for a laptop and a brochure stack.

Desktop roller banner vs table top banner stand

The other kind of table top banner stand is a small fabric frame, and at £42.95 it is the most cost-effective option here. The Bambino tabletop angled banner stand has a stretch fabric graphic printed on both sides, with a visible area of 150mm x 360mm on each, and costs £42.95 ex VAT. It is a desktop display stand that arrives boxed with the frame and graphic, and the warranty covers the hardware and the graphic for one year.

Both are light and quick to put up, so the difference comes down to which way people see it:

  • A desktop roller banner is single sided and faces one way, so it suits a table against a wall or at the front of your stand, facing the aisle.
  • An angled fabric stand is printed on both sides, so it suits a table people can walk round, a reception desk, or a table you share with another exhibitor.
  • On size, the A3 roller banner has the bigger graphic. The Bambino is narrower, which is why it fits on a busy counter.

Best table top display for exhibitions with a full table

If the organiser gives you a full table and you have no backwall, a desktop banner can look lost. A fabric pop up stands on the table and gives your brand a printed backdrop. The OneFabric 5ft tabletop pop up display is 1524mm wide, 1524mm tall and 330mm deep, and costs £307.95 ex VAT. The stretch fabric graphic fits over a lightweight frame, and fabric graphics like this can be changed in minutes, and everything packs into a carry bag made from recycled materials. The shipping size is 310mm x 270mm x 820mm and the shipping weight 7.58kg. The hardware has a lifetime warranty and the graphic one year.

For a long trestle table, the OneFabric 8ft pop up is 2260mm wide at the same height, for £374.95 ex VAT. Both come with or without end caps. The end cap versions (5ft with end caps £335.95 and 8ft with end caps £403.95) also print the ends of the frame, which looks tidier when people approach from the side.

  • Choose the 5ft for a standard 6ft trestle table, which leaves a little room at each end.
  • Choose the 8ft if the table is long and nothing else will stand on it.
  • Add end caps if your table sits at the end of a row or people walk past both sides.

If the venue does not supply a table, our folding trestle table is £151.95 ex VAT and is foldable for transport. A printed table cover gives the table a more professional appearance and hides boxes under it. Our stretch tablecloth for a 6ft trestle table is £162.95 ex VAT with a full colour print.

Fabric pop up vs folding display boards

Folding exhibition display boards come up a lot when people search for a portable display for a table. We don’t sell them, but they are a different tool, so it is worth knowing which you need. A folding display board, such as a trifold poster board or a presentation board, is a set of panels joined at each hinge that folds like a concertina. You pin or stick posters to it, which suits content that changes, such as school or community exhibitions. A fabric pop up has one printed graphic from edge to edge, with no hinges or pins, which suits a business exhibitor who wants a branded backdrop that looks the same at every exhibition, rather than an exhibition board you redress each time.

The best display stand for a reception desk or countertop

On a reception desk, a shop counter, a showroom desk or a counter on your own exhibition stand, you are working in tight spaces and people approach from more than one side. Here I would choose the angled fabric stand, because it is printed double sided and only takes up a small footprint next to your brochures and product samples. It also works as a small retail display on a shop counter. A desktop roller banner works too, if the counter faces one way.

Every order includes FREE artwork design or proofing, so our design team can set up your graphics, or check your own files against our artwork guidelines. Keep the wording short on small displays, ideally a logo and one line, so it can be read from the aisle. If you want people to find your website or book a meeting, a QR code on the desktop banner is easier than a long web address. QR codes need to be printed large enough to scan from where people stand, so ask our team to check the size on your proof. UK delivery is free on orders of £200 or more.

When to add freestanding banner stands beside the table

A table puts everything at waist height, so if you have some floor space beside it, one freestanding banner adds the height a table top display can’t. A full-size roller banner at the end of the table is visible over the heads of people standing at it, while the desktop banner or fabric pop up does the work up close. Our roller banners come in a range of widths, and the graphic retracts into the base between events, so they suit repeated use at small stand events. If you don’t have much floor space, skip it and put the money into a bigger table top display instead.

Which table top display to buy for your exhibition stand

If you are still deciding, this is how I would choose:

  • You share a table or have a small one. A Breeze A4 or A3 desktop roller banner.
  • You need five or more for a team. Rhino desktop roller banners, each with a padded bag.
  • People walk round the table, or it is a counter. The double-sided Bambino angled stand.
  • You have a full table and nothing behind it. A OneFabric 5ft fabric pop up, or the 8ft for a long table.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a banner stand if I already have a table display?

Not always. If your table top display is a fabric pop up, it already gives you a backdrop. If it is just a tablecloth, a desktop roller banner or a full-size roller banner beside the table helps people see who you are from further away, because a table on its own sits below eye level.

How fast can I set up a tabletop display at a conference?

A desktop roller banner takes a moment: pull the graphic up and hook it onto the two-piece pole. The OneFabric pop ups take a few minutes longer, as you put up the frame and fit the fabric graphic over it. Allow a little longer the first time.

What size table top display do I need for a 6ft table?

For a backdrop, the OneFabric 5ft table top pop up is 1524mm wide, which fits on a 6ft trestle table with some room at each end. For a smaller display, an A3 desktop banner is 332mm wide and leaves most of the table free for brochures and samples.

Is a double-sided table top banner worth it?

It is if people can see both sides, for example at a reception desk, on a table in the middle of a room or on a shared table. The Bambino angled stand is printed on both sides as standard. If your table faces one way, a single-sided desktop roller banner is enough.

Can I buy just one Rhino desktop banner?

No, the Rhino desktop roller banners have a minimum order of 5, priced per unit. If you only need one or two, the Breeze A4 at £55.95 or Breeze A3 at £58.95 ex VAT are sold individually.
