Pull Up Banner Size Guide and Which Roller Banner Width to Choose

Pull Up Banner Size Guide and Which Roller Banner Width to Choose

Most pull up banners are 800mm or 850mm wide and 2000mm high, and that’s what most printers mean by the standard pull up banner size. Every standard range we sell is at least 2000mm high, so the real choice is the width. It goes from 600mm for a tight spot up to 2400mm for a full backdrop.

Below is every size we stock in millimetres, centimetres and inches, with the footprint and weight of each range. That way you can check a banner fits your space (and your car) before you order. Prices are our live prices, ex VAT with printing included, checked on 21 October 2026.

Single-sided roller banners. The Barracuda range is 2130mm high in every width. Live Stand Central prices ex VAT, printing included, checked 21 October 2026.

Not every range comes in every width. Expovision is the only 600mm option and Barracuda is the only one that goes up to 2400mm, so if you have a range in mind, check this list before you settle on a size:

  • 600mm Expovision.
  • 800mm Expovision, Rhino, Wave, Defender and Barracuda.
  • 850mm Expovision and Mantis.
  • 1000mm Expovision, Mantis, Rhino, Wave, Defender and Barracuda.
  • 1200mm, 1500mm and 2000mm Mosquito, Rhino, Wave and Barracuda.
  • 2400mm Barracuda only.

If you only need one banner beside a table or a door, I’d go for 850mm wide. It fits a logo, a headline and three or four short lines without looking crowded, and the Expovision 850mm roller banner weighs 2.9kg, so it’s easy to carry. Every range is on our pull up banners page if you want to compare them.

Roller banner heights and custom sizes

Height doesn’t vary much between models, because it’s set by the pole and the cassette rather than being something you choose. There are three heights in our range:

  • 2000mm (about 6ft 7in). Expovision, Mantis, Mosquito, Rhino, Wave and Defender.
  • 2100mm. The double-sided Rhino Twin and the Expovision Outdoor.
  • 2130mm. Barracuda, our premium range, in every width. Its pole is telescopic, so you can adjust the height.

If you need an unusual size, a roller banner probably isn’t the right product. A telescopic tension banner like the Pegasus adjusts from 1330mm to 2400mm wide and from 1120mm to 2400mm high. It’s a fabric graphic on a frame, so nothing rolls into a base.

I wouldn’t pay more for a taller banner on its own. The extra 130mm on a Barracuda makes far less difference than where your logo and headline sit on the graphic, which is covered in the design section further down.

Which pull-up banner width should you choose?

Pick the width for the job the banner has to do. As a rough guide:

  • 600mm. Reception desks, narrow corridors, shop counters and the end of a table. Room for a logo and one message.
  • 800mm or 850mm. The standard size for a single message at a door, beside a stand or on a conference stage, and the lightest to carry. An 800mm x 2000mm banner fits the same spots.
  • 1000mm. More room for a headline, an image and contact details. A good choice if it is the main display on a small stand or at one-off events.
  • 1200mm and 1500mm. Wide enough to act as a small backdrop for photos, interviews or a 2m wide space.
  • 2000mm and 2400mm. Backdrop sizes. They use two or three poles and weigh more, so check the weights below before you commit.

For a trade show space, add up the graphic widths and leave a little room for the bases. On a 3m wide space, two 1500mm banners or three 1000mm banners fill the back wall, and a 2000mm backdrop with an 800mm banner beside it gives you a backdrop plus a separate message. If you want one continuous wall rather than several units, a fabric display wall is usually the better buy, and our guide to the best portable exhibition stands compares the options.

Roller banner dimensions, footprint and weight by range

The base footprint is the floor space the cassette and feet take up front to back, which matters on a busy stand or a narrow aisle. Weights are as published on each product page.

A Mosquito base with its twist-out feet out. The feet add stability but take up floor in front and behind.

Two practical points come out of that table. The cost-effective ranges (Expovision, Mantis, Mosquito) use twist-out feet and are the lightest to carry. Rhino, Wave, Defender and Barracuda have no twist-out feet, which gives a neater base, and the Barracuda 2400mm carries a five-year hardware warranty (excluding the graphic), against one year for our other roll up banner stands. If you are choosing between two models of the same width, check the weight as well as the price: the Rhino 1000mm is listed at 6kg packed, against 3.5kg for the Expovision 1000mm. Expovision, Rhino, Mosquito, Defender and Barracuda all list a carry bag in the box.

Roller banner design and print-ready artwork

Design your artwork at the full size of the model you are ordering, in millimetres. Our artwork guidelines ask for a High Quality Print PDF, exported at the High Quality Printing setting, with all colours in CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) and images at 72 to 125 DPI at final print size. You do not need 300 DPI at full size: on a 2m tall graphic it makes a much larger file with no visible gain. If you only have a PNG or JPEG, ask us before you send it, and convert from RGB carefully because colours can shift.

As a guide to image size in pixels for an 850mm x 2000mm roll-up banner:

  • At 72 DPI, about 2,409 x 5,669 pixels.
  • At 100 DPI, about 3,346 x 7,874 pixels.
  • At 125 DPI, about 4,183 x 9,843 pixels.

Images below that range can print pixelated, so use the original photo or logo file rather than one copied from a website.

Keep important text and logos out of the cassette

The top of the graphic is held by the rail and the bottom edge sits inside the base when the banner is up, so treat both ends as a safe zone and keep important text and logos away from them. Put your brand and main message at eye level, roughly the middle third, where people who walk past will read it. A plain background colour behind the text, one image and a QR code near the middle work better than a crowded layout, and the banner material is grey backed block out media with an anti-curl finish, so the printed banner stays flat.

You do not have to get this right on your own. You get FREE artwork design or proofing on every order: send your file and our team checks it before anything is printed, or ask our design team to lay the banner out for you.

Double-sided banner sizes

If people will see it from both sides, for example in the middle of a foyer or at the end of an aisle, a double-sided model prints two graphics on one base. The sizes are narrower than the single-sided ranges:

  • Expovision DUO, 600mm or 800mm wide by 2000mm high.
  • Twin Expovision, 850mm or 1000mm wide by 2000mm high, with a 400mm footprint.
  • Rhino Twin, 850mm or 1000mm wide by 2100mm high, with a 180mm footprint.

Small, tabletop and wide roller banner sizes

For counters and desks, the Rhino desktop roller banner takes an A4 graphic (297mm x 210mm) or an A3 graphic (420mm x 302mm) and weighs 0.3kg to 0.4kg.

At the other end, the 1500mm and 2000mm models sit in our wide roller banners range, and the Barracuda goes up to 2400mm. They are the quickest way to put up a large-format backdrop without a frame, and the Mosquito 2000mm is the lowest-priced 2m option. Above 2400mm you need a fabric wall or a modular display system.

All of our roller banners are listed for indoor use apart from the Expovision Outdoor, which comes with ground pegs, so check that before an outdoor event. Printed and dispatched within 5 days with express options available. UK delivery is free on orders of £200 or more.

Pop up banner sizes if you mean a pop-out banner

“Pop up banner” is also used for pop-out banners: a printed fabric disc or oval on a flexible sprung frame that pops into shape, with no pole or cassette. They are listed for indoor and outdoor use. They come as circles from 750mm to 1200mm across, or ovals from 400mm x 200mm up to 2900mm x 1500mm, so they suit a logo or a short message rather than detail. The 750mm circular pop-out banner is the smallest disc.

Frequently asked questions

What is the standard pull up banner size?

Across our ranges, the standard pull up banner size is 800mm or 850mm wide by 2000mm high. Every standard model we stock is 2000mm high, apart from the 2100mm Rhino Twin and Expovision Outdoor and the 2130mm Barracuda. If you are unsure, a standard roll up banner at 850mm x 2000mm suits most uses.

What size is a pull up banner in cm?

A standard one is 85cm x 200cm or 80cm x 200cm. The other common sizes are 100cm, 120cm, 150cm, 200cm and 240cm wide, all around 200cm high. Small spaces can use a 60cm x 200cm model, and desktop versions take A4 or A3 graphics.

What is a roll up banner size in inches?

An 850mm x 2000mm roll up banner is about 33.5 x 78.7 inches, and an 800mm one is 31.5 inches wide. A 1000mm model is 39.4 inches and a 2000mm wide one is 78.7 inches. The height of most models, 2000mm, is about 6ft 7in.

Is a roller banner the same as a pull up banner?

Yes. Roller banner, pull up banner, roll up banner and retractable banner stand all describe the same thing: a printed graphic on a spring-loaded roller inside an aluminium cassette, pulled up onto a pole. Pop up banner usually means the same, though it is also used for sprung pop-out banners. We list them under both roller banners and pull up banners, with the same sizes.

How much floor space does a roller banner stand need?

Allow the graphic width plus a little either side, and a depth of 180mm to 400mm for the base depending on the model. Twist-out feet on the budget ranges add stability but need clear floor in front and behind, so leave room on narrow stands with heavy foot traffic.

What resolution should my artwork be?

Our artwork guidelines ask for images at 72 to 125 DPI at the full printed size, colours in CMYK and a High Quality Print PDF. For an 850mm x 2000mm banner that is roughly 2,400 to 4,200 pixels wide. We check every file before banner printing starts, free of charge.
