Why Exhibition Artwork Prices Are Harder to Compare Than They Look

SOURCE CAPTURES: 2026-09-29

Across 5 within-supplier examples, advertised entry artwork charges are 9.1%–58.2% of the configured nominal-3m display price (median 23.3%). All amounts exclude VAT; service scope differs and some charges are starting prices or package estimates.

Discount Displays: Bronze £34.95: layout with your text only; Silver £49.95: text + logo + image; Gold £89.95: text + multiple logos + multi images, basic image manipulation. All are package estimates excluding VAT, with separately charged overruns. Conditional included services are £0 with qualifying purchases, not unrestricted standalone design. This is a scope comparison, not a quality ranking.

Among the same 13 three-tier Upwork listings, the median Starter price is $49 and Advanced is $190, a 3.88 ratio of medians. Higher tiers buy different scopes, not necessarily required revisions; no completed-order spending was measured. Capture-time evidence only: independent fresh access failed for all 14 retained Upwork listings. Buyer fees and additional taxes are not established.

An illustrative full-time marketing employee costs £19.57/hour after the modelled employer NIC and pension. The assumed 3/6/12-hour scenarios cost £58.71, £117.43 and £234.86. These are model outputs, not observed project times, extra payroll bills or proven savings versus outsourcing. ONS full-time SOC 3554 hourly and annual inputs are separate medians, not one observed employee. Employer NIC assumes no Employment Allowance or relief; pension is the statutory minimum on qualifying earnings.
